A long-term partnership

In 2003, Bertrand Piccard had a dream: to create an aircraft capable of flying all day and night using only solar energy. Altran shared in the ambition of this extraordinary project. In our capacity as Innovation Makers, our job is to provide unconventional solutions to unusually complex situations. Altran’s initial calculations proved the viability of the Solar Impulse project. Since then, we have shared our passion for innovation. Christian Le Liepvre, Head of the Solar Impulse Partnership for Altran

Altran has since worked with Bertrand Piccard and André Borschberg as an official partner of Solar Impulse. The two parties have decided to share their expertise to demonstrate the potential of renewable energies. As an energy-self-sufficient aircraft, Solar Impulse is a wonderful illustration of their abilities. The shared values of expertise, performance and passion underlie Altran’s participation in the project. That is why Altran experts were so eager to meet the challenges of Solar Impulse, one of the most ambitious human and technological adventures of the 21st century.
