01.12.2011 - Altran Research at the Paris Innovation Awards ceremony

Altran Research participates to the Paris Innovation Awards ceremony in the "Eco-innovation" category

The Paris Innovation Awards are organized by the Direction du Laboratoire Paris Région Innovation (PRIL), whose purpose is to support the development of innovative businesses, in high growth potential sectors in the Paris Region, rewarding businesses which contribute to improving city life and the local economy.
As partner of the 2011 edition of the Paris Innovation Awards in the “Eco-innovations” category, Altran was represented by Valérie Archambault, Director of Altran Research, and member of the jury for the event. Altran conforms to this category, centered on sustainable development, since it rewards projects directly or indirectly contributing to improving the environment, either technically, conceptually or methodologically.
Valérie Archambault and the other members of the jury were in charge of selecting the 25 finalists who took an oral examination. They then chose the category winner, who was announced during the award ceremony, which took place on December, 1st 2011 at the Palais Brongniart.

30.11.11-02.12.11 - Altran Research at the Ecotech & Tools 2011 international conference

Altran Research participates to the Ecotech & Tools 2011 international conference (Montpellier - SupAgro School)

Altran Research, in collaboration with Catherine Azzaro-Pantel (Research Laboratory in Chemical Engineering (LCG) - UMR 5503 INP Toulouse/CNRS/UPS) has presented its research at the Ecotech & Tools 2011 conference (“Environmental & Integrated Assessment of Complex Systems Biosystems - Water - Land Management”) organized by the research networks PEER (Partnership for European Environmental Research), the Consortium of the European IRSES project “ECOTOOL” and the Consortium of the Interreg IV project “Ecotech-Sudoe”. More than 130 persons will attend the conference which takes place in Montpellier (SupAgro School) from November 30 to December 2, 2011.

At the poster session of the conference, Claude-Emma Komly1, Catherine Azzaro-Pantel2, Antoine Hubert1 and Valérie Archambault1 have present a mathematical model based on LCA results integrated to a geometric sequence, that assess the environmental efficiency of the end-of-life management of PET bottles (poster avalaible here). Based on this model, a multiobjective optimization has been carried out to define optimal targets for efficient waste management. This model can be easily adapted to any specific product like bio-based plastics or organic wastes to find the optimal allocation between valorization paths, or between supply paths (for instance supply of a biorefinery), in order to minimize the environmental impacts.

12.10.2011 - Altran Research at the Altran Innovation conference

Altran Research participates to the Altran Innovation conference at the Aerospace Valley cluster in Toulouse

On October 12th 2011, Altran is organizing with the Aerospace Valley cluster the Altran Innovation conference, at the ENAC in Toulouse. The world competitiveness cluster constitutes Europe’s leading pool of jobs in the field of aeronautics, space and embedded systems, representing more than 120,000 industrial jobs. On its side, Altran has been developing for nearly 30 years R&D solutions in the same fields.

At a time where innovation has become a vital element in the economic battle the manufacturers have engaged into, Altran has an important role to play and intends to present it during this event. Why is Altran an essential player in the aerospace industry? What are tomorrow’s stakes and how will Altran help face them? What is Altran’s approach in technological innovation?

To answer these questions, the speakers will address the Group’s strategy, strongly established in the South-West of France with 1,600 employees, and will present the partnerships tied with leading players such as EADS or Solar Impulse. Altran Research and its research engineers will also present some of our projects with a focus on sustainable development, as accounts of Altran’s expertise in innovation consulting.

24.09.2011 - Altran Research at the 24h Chrono de l'Entrepreneuriat

Valérie Archambault, Altran Research Director, will represent the Altran Group at the 24h Chrono de l'Entrepreneuriat

The National Association for Research and Technology (ANRT) believes research and entrepreneurship are complementary, and intends proving it with the 24h Chrono de l’Entrepreneuriat, together with the CIFRE program reuniting 4,000 PhDs. The participants have the opportunity to express their daring attitude, their willingness to invent and experiment entrepreneurship, from the original idea to the drawing up of a business plan.

Encouraging young PhDs to consider a “business orientation” means giving rise to a generation of high potential innovatiors, value and job creators in France and beyond. This event enables its participants to learn the entrepreneur behavior during 24 hours non-stop, after which each team will present its project to a jury of entrepreneurship specialists.

Valérie Archambault, Director of Altran Research, was a member of the jury for the 24h Chrono de l’Entrepreneuriat, which took place on September 23rd and 24th 2011. She brought her experience and gave her own account of how research and the business world can both benefit from a closer connection.

22.06.2011 – Paris Air Show – Le Bourget

Valérie Archambault, Altran Research Director, participates to the round table on “How Does Innovation Create Sustainable Value

This round table was a perfect opportunity to discuss the connections between innovation and sustainable value. Confronting the speakers’ experiences and viewpoints, the aim was to bring out key perspectives and answers to the following questions:

  • How can we measure and evaluate sustainable value?
  • What does eco-conception bring compared to other innovation processes?
  • Which kind of innovation allows to create sustainable value in products, processes and business models?
  • How does a corporate policy paving the way for sustainable development back the creation of sustainable value? What are the news stakes and challenges for the consultants involved in sustainable innovation projects?

The topic of professional, personal and corporate responsabilities of engineers and companies facing sustainability issues was also raised during the conference.
