Altran Foundation for Innovation 2008 Award
The Altran Foundation for Innovation launched its 2008 award, whose theme this year will address the question of reducing the concentration of CO2 in our atmosphere. This international award is open to every project carrier striving to develop technologies linked to this theme, whether to predict and/or reduce emissions, reduce and/or repair the damages caused by emissions, or make society aware of these pressing issues. Learn more about this year's awrad: "Reducing Levels of CO2 in the Atmosphere: our Technological Challenge" in our press release.

An award with a human dimension
For now 11 years the Altran Foundation for Innovation has allocated international annual prizes to a researcher or a project holder in the field of technological innovation (energy, access to water, developing countries, early childhood, and scientific education, to name but a few) to the benefit of society.

The prize is unique: the winner receives a one year technological support and consultancy worth 1 million Euros. As such, the Foundation gives the laureate the opportunity to benefit from the support of Altran, European leader in Innovation Technology Consulting, and from the experience and the unique skills of the Altran Group’s 17 000 consultant-engineers.

Pannel_Members.JPGThe jury is totally independent from Altran and is composed of international experts chosen for their reputation and skill in the fields encompassed by the theme specific to the year. Let us mention Mr. Jean-Luc Dehaene who presided the jury in 2005 or Mr. Busquin, Eurpean Commissioner for Research, who patroned the 2004 edition.

Recently, Altran decided to introduce a new feature to the call for candidates: taking potential candidates through the application process step by step by appointing them a consultant/coach.

To launch this year’s prize, Altran organized on 22 November 2007 a great debate on how industry executives have been taking innovative environmental technologies from theory to practice: "Innovation, the Road to a Low Carbon Economy, how CO2 influences today's executive decision-making." Download the conference report here: FR or ENG.

Like every year, you can promote our award on your website and/or in your newsletters and magazines. Feel free to download our insert and our banner. You can also send an e-mail to foundation@altran.be for more documentation.
