Altran’s commitment to sustainability is not new. In 2004, Altran Belgium, Altran Europe, Altran CIS and De Valck Consultants decided to walk their talk by progressively reducing their own environmental impact in a cost-effective way. Internally, our major impact is linked to the commuting of our consultants. We thus decided to go beyond our legal obligations and implement a common and voluntary mobility plan: we are, so far, the only ones in Brussels to have received the official validation of such a plan without being legally required to submit one. As part of this action, our car policy was reviewed entirely in 2008 in order to allow only low-emission vehicles (hybrid cars, particulate filters for Diesel cars …). We also promote low impact alternatives: car pooling, car sharing, bikes… Beyond mobility, we work on many other fronts: for instance, we improved our way of dealing with dangerous waste, we reduced our energy, water, and paper consumption, we use recycled paper, we buy 100% green energy and so on. Externally, given that our consultants work mainly on our clients’ premises, their good example can give us the possibility to gently push for change in quite a high number of Belgian and European companies. So we created a range of trainings on sustainability and related issues and we developed a series of communication tools to identify us by including a logo, an intranet share…
