| Edit, you are a senior consultant with remarkable experience in quality management. What do you enjoy in consulting? I start each project with the same excitement to meet new challenges! I like to compare the situation at the project end with the one at the project start. Within couple of months or even weeks, I see the real value brought to the client. Before joining Altran I was working as an engineer in the industry and I was confronted to lots of operational tasks. As an Altran senior consultant, my function is to lead and manage my projects. I am free to choose my solutions, as long as I deliver results! Travelling and trainings makes my work even more colourful! After working hours I find time to discover foreign cities, the people and their culture. What is your current project? My current project is the most complex job I have ever had. I have the position of quality programme leader for a major French tier 2 supplier: I coordinate a quality programme before the start of production. I work with the R&D centre located in France, the industrialization team in Poland and the customer quality in Germany. Beside technical challenges in this leading automotive environment, I also use 3 different languages! What is it like being a woman consultant in industry? Is it more difficult? I do not think so. Sometimes I even see the opposite. Human relations are a key to becoming a good and acknowledged consultant. Sometimes women are better at communication and able to persuade the client with calm arguments, or even a little smile. Why did you choose a career in quality management? I initially chose quality management because of its mix of technology and management. Starting as a quality engineer, I improved basic production processes. The more my career progressed, the more I consider my clients’ activity globally; I improve quality at a higher level. What would you like to achieve in 5 years’ time? Family, children – personal goals are a priority. However, from the professional point of view, I want to carry on consulting in a coordination position. I like to share with my colleagues and there are plenty of opportunities for that in Altran. I would like to continue training other consultants, work on our methodologies and coordinate workshops to find and define best practices related to quality. More information |
