Altran develops critical safety system for Royal Navy Spearfish torpedo upgrade programme

Altran Praxis, the Group subsidiary specialising in embedded and critical systems engineering, has been awarded a contract from BAE Systems Mission Systems to design and build the Safety Electronic Unit (SEU) for the UK Ministry of Defence's (MoD) Spearfish torpedo upgrade programme.

New 3D high-tech radar technology serving the deployment of wind turbines

The growth of wind energy industry was held back until now mainly because of safety reasons linked to air defence. An Altran subsidiary has developed a 3D radar, an innovative technology which gives air traffic controllers the ability to distinguish between an aircraft and the rotating wind turbine blades.
