Altran is participating in the 2016 Paris Motor Show with a booth on powering the next generation of cars.

3D printing with Divergent

Saristu

Divergent, our US-based strategic partner, is showcasing how it has created a software-hardware platform enabled by 3D printing (Divergent Manufacturing Platform™). It is focused on radically transforming the economics and adverse environmental impact of designing and manufacturing complex structures

Its innovative production process reduces the environmental damage caused by cars, radically lowers capital costs for design and manufacturing, and dramatically accelerates innovation, especially in the automotive sector.

Altran created a Simulator « all in the box » (micro-PC plug and play – pre-installed software) that is able to predict fuel consumption and give real-time indications and advices to the driver.  

Altran created a personalized algorithm able to predict, in real time, the energy fuel consumption of a driver on his own car and on a given road. It makes available a consumption simulator (acquisition and specific data analysis to the vehicle with topologic data) proposing alternatives on the way to drive. 

With this solution, Altran accelerates new mobility and participates to the reduction of energy consumption. 

CoherenSE®

Saristu

Developed by Altran and Jaguar Land Rover, CoherenSE® is a solution that accelerates and makes possible advanced software-based automotive features such as autonomous driving. Through a modular approach, it gives a full command and control of the vehicle to manage the growing complexity of systems throughout the product lifetime. 

It also contributes to cost and weight reduction by streamlining hardware content, software re-use and feature changes in a more flexible and coherent way. CoherenSE® enables future vehicles to be updated and customized like smartphones today, but with automotive grade quality, safety and cyber security built in.

Engine modularity serving eco-mobility, thanks to SCALE patent (Split Crankshaft Actuator for class Leading Efficiency)

Altran proposes a prototype showing a patent solution of a scale adaptable engine to find a sustainable solution for road transport. Whatever the power required by the engine, the crankshaft will change and adapt its configuration to reduce consumption and meet emission standards.

The solution presents strong advantages and answers to immediate benefits, possible for all vehicles, even non modular vehicles. 

As a disruptive technological innovation, it has a clear impact directly on the engine as it answers to needs in terms of modularity and sustainability.

VueForge® for ADAS Verification

Altran proposes an end-to end managed service, consisting of a data storage, a computing platform, a SIL-test environment as well as an integrated data analytics & reporting – in the “cloud”. 

As an all-in-one ADAS testing platform, VueForge® for ADAS Verification provides cost-savings and faster time to market to manage the increasing volume & complexity of data. 

The Solution brings clarity, modularity and scalability to complex yet intelligent systems, making them easier to distribute, update, modify and upgrade.

V2X – Vehicle to Vehicle to Infrastructure (Road safety through V2X communication)

Altran developed a demonstrator showing how the infrastructure, in this case a traffic light, can communicate with cars in order to give qualified information to the driver & to take emergency action by the car if needed (in case of autonomous vehicle).

These information will interact with the rest of car equipment in order to offer new services for autonomous vehicle.

With the implementation of vehicle networks in intelligent transport systems, the V2X system demonstrates our capacities to create innovative technologies able to connect cars together (V2V) and cars to infrastructure (V2I) in order to increase safety, traffic management and comfort for drivers.

Altran Driver simulator

Altran experts has developed a simulator with four scenarios to detect unawareness of the dangers and some drivers' health issues, thanks to a driver monitoring system, help the vehicle to perceive his external environment thanks to low-cost instrumentation can, principally thanks to a webcam and image processing given to the driver information in case of intelligent vehicles, or directly be used as an input in case of  autonomous vehicles. 

It also shows how the autonomous vehicle can plan trajectory; The comparison between Human Driver and autonomous pilot gives an idea on the calibration quality of autonomous driving strategy. And then, it provides a Vehicle to infrastructure (V2I) scenario, showing how vehicular communication can help drivers and autonomous systems to ride safely in crowded areas.

Traffic management system – RTM - Manage CO² emissions reduction and road traffic

Altran has developed a collaborative traffic management system organizing vehicles movements. This Road Traffic Management systems (RTM) solution shows Altran capacity to develop algorithms and to simulate its use in different scenarios, through  matlab with real cartography data.  

It is applied to a group of vehicles with a zoom on benefits showing simulation results. With this specific know how to develop algorithms, Altran participates to CO2 emissions reduction and energy consumption management
