In your opinion, what are the main challenges facing the nuclear industry?

There have been very few new nuclear power plants built in the world in the last 30 years. As a result, there is a severe shortage of engineering and project management expertise and experience within the nuclear industry, and many firms are fighting over the talent that still exists. So, in addition to attracting new clients and winning large contracts, our biggest challenge will be to meet the upcoming demand for expertise. We need to recruit, train and develop the new generation of nuclear experts around the world and provide them with a successful and attractive career path to encourage them to stay with the Altran group for many years to come.

What is your function inside Altran Group? What are your responsibilities?

I am Executive Director for the USA. As Executive Director of the Nuclear Energy division, I also coordinate Altran’s nuclear activities worldwide. This new nuclear organization includes over 900 consultants.

Can you tell us more about your role? In what way is this offer strategic for Altran?

The Altran group as a whole offers many unique and exciting solutions in the nuclear industry. However, the move over the last year to share talent and resources has led, amongst other things, to new global energy partnerships.

My role is to expand and formalise this process and provide the Altran group as a whole with the ability firstly to win contracts and, even more importantly, to execute work on an industry basis anywhere in the world. This focus will, hopefully, make Altran’s Nuclear and Energy division a source of significant growth for the Group over the next decade.

What can this offer bring to Altran’s clients?

The sharing of resources can allow us to bring the best technologies from within the entire Altran group specific regions in need of these solutions. A case in point would be the recent joint proposal for a Japanese client that brought together our US and German firms. Working together, our two divisions can deliver superior technical and project management expertise to produce the required innovative solutions for the client. Other joint opportunities for the Altran teams in the UK, in France, in India and in Germany are already on the cards.
Our Group is comprised of true experts in the nuclear sector: we are capable of providing the best talent and the best technical and managerial solutions to our valued clients anywhere around the world.
