Yes. And for four years now, I have been Senior Consultant in Business Economics (BIK – Bestuurlijke Informatie Kunde) for Altran CIS in the Netherlands. My customers are in banking, insurance, the government, and the industry. At the moment I work at a major bank where I have several ongoing projects to look after. One of the projects is to set-up a Human Resource Management (HRM) portal for the company’s employees. Another project is to analyse the architectural consequences of implementing a multi-banking system. I am also working on a strategic solution for Credit Risk Management.
2. What would you say satisfies you the most in your projects?
I probably get the most satisfaction out of the process of setting up the HRM portal. It is very interesting to set up an environment where you can offer the employee more services like, for example, finding his HRM information. Furthermore, you work with a team specialized in many different fields such as business, communication, technical applications (application development and server management).
3. What does this type of project usually entail in terms of difficulties?
What is most critical is the impact the project can have on another business process. As long as we can explain the impact is low, we can continue with the project.
4. You say what you like most is the combination of flexibility and security that the job offers.
Yes. I sometimes feel like a professional sportsman. You must stay in top professional condition, whatever the new setting, and you must play as one team that wants to win, where winning means giving the client optimal customer satisfaction.
