Quality Intelligence is an innovative approach targeted at decision makers in the Life Sciences Industry. Combining a sound knowledge of Quality Systems and LEAN methodologies, QI is designed to help clients getting a clear grasp of Quality Assurance issues.

Based on an exclusive set of specific diagnostic tools, QI systematically assesses and enhances the maturity of Quality Systems and allows achieving the following goals:

  • Increase compliance and performance
  • Reduce efforts and cost of quality
  • Reconcile generic improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, OE, Kaizen) with quality and quality functions
Quality Intelligence

The QI offer was launched in September 2010 by the “Quality Assurance - Centre of Excellence” in Belgium that maintains a network of about 350 quality experts in Life Sciences across the Altran group.

Altran together with an international pharmaceutical company hosted a workshop on the topic “Application of Quality by Design (QbD) principles to existing processes” at A3P.

After an introduction of the main principles of Pharmaceutical science and Compliance Requirements, followed by a reminder of QbD (Quality by Design), QRM (Quality Risk Management) and PAT (Process Analytical Technology) concepts, the workshop attendees had to apply those principles.

The participants analysed the manufacturing process of a parental product to define an action plan with the objective to remodel it, to improve its control and reliability and to reduce the total cost of quality. The whole workshop experience was well received and all participants enjoyed the exercise.
