Martin Croxford, Solution Manager – Embedded and Critical Systems
What is your function in the Altran group and what are your responsibilities?
I am a Solution Manager, responsible for the development of high value solutions for Altran’s clients across Altran’s Geographies and Industries, and supporting large or multi-national bids.
I lead Altran’s cross-industry global Safety practice, and Altran’s specific solution in AUTOSAR for the automotive industry. I also support Altran’s ATM (Air Traffic Management) solution, which is being led by my ECS colleague Jean-Jacques Lutz.
In your opinion, what are the main challenges for ECS?
My main challenge has been to bring together the depth and breadth of experience across the Altran group, and to then find ways to apply this capability to the benefit of Altran’s clients; directly to address today’s client issues, and indirectly to develop a response to market trends.
Project experience in one country is often directly relevant in another country, and Altran’s clients have been pleasantly surprised to discover new facets of Altran’s capability.
What does ECS bring to Altran’s clients?
A key benefit is that joining up Altran’s international and cross-sector experience can bring a new perspective on addressing client needs.
For example, in Altran’s Safety practice, experience in system-level safety projects in aerospace and defence is relevant to addressing safety issues in automotive, such as migrating to ISO 26262. Similarly in ATM, Altran’s experience with applying Datalink technology in France is relevant to Altran’s ATM clients in Italy and the UK.
Finally, what are your key assets that will help you to succeed in your role?
There are many expertise centres across the Altran group which are important assets involved in bringing together solutions for my areas of responsibility: Safety, AUTOSAR and Air Traffic Management.
However the key asset for me is the energy and enthusiasm of the engineers and managers involved in supporting these Solutions. Combining Altran’s world-class engineers with strong engineering and technology blocks is working well, with benefits to Altran’s staff, as well as to Altran’s clients.
