THE CHALLENGE
The automotive industry is facing a revolution. New players are entering the car market, empowered by innovative and disruptive technologies. Younger generations with different expectations are fostering new business models, and drive an extreme differentiation of the product portfolio with a multiplication of vehicle variants. Meanwhile, stricter environmental and safety regulations are imposing significant new investments on manufacturers. This requires new technology breakthroughs such as electrification of powertrains and new electric/electronic architecture.

Altran supports Maserati in the advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS)
Maserati has decided to make the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) the centre of their product innovation strategy and has requested Altran to carry out a Hardware In The Loop (HIL) test environment closing the loop directly on the Radio Frequency sensor (at 76-82 GHz). Altran succedded in it by creating an innovative RF platform based on National Instruments technologies and a 3D virtual road scenario. Thanks to his test environment, Maserati and Altran are able to validate several ADAS with an automatic and repeatable test execution. Besides the solution is expandable to address future complexity.

White Paper
“ADAS HIL forsensor fusion”, a white paper by Altran - National Instruments
In the framework of a technical partnership, Altran and National Instruments have written together the white paper “ADAS HIL for Sensor Fusion”, presented during the NIWeek, held in Austin (Texas, US) from 22 to 25 May 2017. The white paper gives an overview of the innovative test environment suite developed by Altran Italia to address hardware in the loop validation for automotive front camera and radar with a loop directly closed on RF sensor (77GHz). Besides it reports solution concept, main outcomes from initial research efforts, key system-level elements used to implement the application.
